Considering this is meant to be a game of indulgence, it's not surprising that there are people who don't particularly care. Although in some cases, it really does seem more like genuine stupidity than anything else.

By not finding this killer, we either have a mystery amidst our own number—a person willing to kill and implicate any of us instead, in a system where even a single vote might condemn you. [ it's a way to easily get rid of two people in this 'race.' ] And even discounting a dangerous individual among us... not knowing all the details discomfits me.

I cannot trust a system to grant me a wish when I scarcely understand the threats inherit to it.

I do think the two means of winning here are surviving until the end, whatever that may be, or killing everyone else. But rather than a massacre, I would rather get my indulgence from punishing those that make fools of us.
