No, though I've read a bit about Japan in the library. Our world shares a number of customs with it, it seems... Perhaps making wishes at the dawn of something new is something several cultures take part in.

My reason for being here is much the same, though. I thought to wish for a better outcome for us, since it seems we cannot kill this monster properly.
